A nod to colored squares

A nod to colored squares is paying my respects to artists such as Josef Albers who painted squares of colors in his efforts to learn and teach about the power of color. He recognized that a given color is almost defined by its relationship with an adjacent color. Indeed, color can evoke so many emotions and is very powerful. This painting has many, many layers of acrylic colors, some advancing, some receding, and lots of textures on canvas.

It is 24”X24.”
